Thumbs up for digging and thumbs down for burying in Digg

To vote any web content in Digg, just press thumbs up. Thumbs up i.e. is called as digging and used to promote any link in Digg. There was a thumbs down too in past, which was called as burying.

In July 2012 Digg was sold to Betaworks for $500,000 and the whole site was rebuilt from scratch by the new owners. This rebuild change the way of submitting link in Digg, also burying was removed from it. Now Digg shows the submitted links with big images.

It looks pretty but sometime I missed thumbs down a lot. I think Digg need to reconsider to put its burying back.

To show my crush, like, +1 & promote on Digg, i created the profile image by combining the thumbs up with Digg logo.

Hi all, and welcome to the third and final installment in the “Envisioning Technology” series. Today, it’s the “Future of Education Technology” that’s up for all to see. Much like their speculative work on Future Tech and the Future of Medicine, they present us here with an infographic that shows the interrelated fields of educational technology and how growth in one will inevitable lead to change in others.

On the one hand, we see a gradual transition from the Classroom (i.e. traditional educational environment) to the Studio environment, where a peer and group dynamic becomes the focus, rather than classic teacher-student transmission. In the final environment, learning becomes Virtual, divorced from any specific geographical context – i.e. it happens wherever you are, not just in a classroom or academic institution.

Story behind the egg of twitter

“Digg with me” got a twitter account @diggwithme, follow me please.

When I created it, I got a default avatar “an egg”, so a question raised in mind, what’s the story behind that egg? Why egg? So i start digging that and found some facts. I would like to share it with all.

Earlier Twitter was using a smiley faced (the weird brown smiley face) avatar which changed to a wide variety of colored Twitter birds in Sep 2009.

 

You can see that twitter bird also in twitter logo but with some changes.

And in Sep 2010 twitter got an “Egg”, a new default avatar. Egg belongs to a bird, so they continue their twitter bird style.

People was also surprised after watching their default avatar, which changed to an egg. Some also criticize them for this but criticism is always with a success path.

Still this egg is visible as default twitter avatar. What will be the next, just wait and watch?
